Mara Mintzer, program director for Growing Up Ãå±±½ûµØ, will speak atÌýÌýNov. 11Ìýat the Ìýin Denver.Ìý Mintzer is among 18 finalists out of an applicant pool of around 1,700.

Although speakers are not allowed to divulge the exact content of their speeches, Mintzer said herÌýtalk will be related to herÌýcurrent work at Growing Up Ãå±±½ûµØ, where she helps integrate children and youth voices into Ãå±±½ûµØ's city planning.

"At Growing Up Ãå±±½ûµØ, we challenge adults, undergraduates, youth and children to work together and listen to each other," Mintzer says. "I want people to realize how capable children and youth are at shaping the world around them. Working with low-income children and youth, I've been amazed by how insightful and creative young people are."Ìý Ìý
