Dear Infrastructure & Resilience Staff,

We’re excited to invite you to a community building event to celebrate another successful academic year and to kick off summer! What better way to do that than free Sweet Cow ice cream, games and networking opportunities.

Join us Monday, June 9th from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. at the 30th Street Greenhouse (1380 30th Street) on East Campus.

Please work with your supervisor to ensure your team has adequate coverage if you’d like to attend this event. All I&R staff, student workers, and temporary employees are invited to stop by at the event. Just a heads-up—it’s for I&R team members only, so we won’t be able to accommodate family or friends.

Social Security is a complex system with different usages and decisions for each person. Luckily, Employee Services is here to help you navigate your options with the Retirement Ready webinar, “Social Security Basics,” from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 6.

This interactive talk, presented by the Social Security Administration, covers the basic tenets of the Social Security program, such as entitlements, pre-retirement planning, retirement benefits and more. Time is reserved at the end for a question-and-answer session.

We are excited to announce the appointment of Walter O’Toole as the new Assistant Director of Distribution Services. In this role, Walter will oversee all Distribution Services operations, including Property Services and the �山�� Surplus Store, Mail & Package Services, as well as the Facilities Management Stores and Distribution Services work units.

Walter brings over a decade of experience in logistics, supply chain management, and distribution across �山�� and the greater Colorado area. His extensive background and leadership will be a valuable asset to our team.

Walter will officially begin his new role on May 27, 2025. Please join us in welcoming him to the I&R community!

Upcoming Roadway and Sidewalk Closure on 18th Street between Broadway and Euclid – June 2 to August 1, 2025 Nancy Portner Wed, 05/21/2025 - 13:17

During a campus waterline replacement project, 18th Street between Broadway and Euclid will undergo phased closures for new waterline installation and roadway restoration.

Proposed construction schedule (subject to change based on field conditions):

From June 2 to July 11 the southbound lane from Lot 204 to Broadway will be closed (one northbound lane will remain open to allow access into Lot 204 and the Wardenburg lot).

From July 11 to July 25 there will be phased closures of 18th Street to allow access to lots 204, 310 and 325. Various traffic patterns will be utilized; vehicles and pedestrians should follow posted signage in and around the construction zone.

From July 26 to August 1, there will be a complete closure of 18th Street from Broadway to Euclid. There will be no access to lots 204, 310 and 324 during this phase. Folks needing vehicle access to Wardenburg during this time will need to access Wardenburg Drive via Colorado Ave (lot 360 entrance) to Libby Drive to Baker Drive to Wardenburg Drive.

Sidewalks in the area will also be closed during construction. Impacted buildings include Music, Wardenburg, CASE, and parking lots 204 and 310. Please refer to posted signage and reroute maps for CU Buff Bus summer service.

We are excited to announce that each I&R team member is invited to select one workwear item of their choice as a special gift from our Vice Chancellor Chris Ewing and the I&R leadership team. This is our way of showing appreciation for your hard work and dedication. Please take this opportunity to choose something that suits your style and needs. You can browse the available options and place your order through the link provided below.

Here is how it will work:

Step 1: Go to the Distribution Center to view the workwear options and decide which size is right for you. The Distribution Center will be open daily, Monday through Friday from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. from May 12 – May 23, 2025.

If you can’t make it to the Distribution Center in the next two weeks, view a PDF of all the new options and sizes here. The variety of items is limited and there are new items that weren’t previously offered. Only the items listed on this PDF and on the special order form qualify for this order.

Please note that we are not able to return, exchange or swap out the item you order, so it’s very important that you know your proper size and style. This is why we are offering the viewing sessions.

Step 2: Once you have decided what you want to order, fill out the Workwear Special Order Form.

ALL ORDERS ARE DUE BY 5:00 PM ON FRIDAY, MAY 23.

Step 3: One large bulk order will be placed, and supervisors will be notified when the workwear for their team is ready for them to pick up. We expect the new workwear will be ready in late-July, and will keep you informed on the timeline as we know more.

The Center for Community (C4C) parking garage (Lot 327) will be closed for annual power washing and cleaning. The entire garage will be inaccessible, including fire alarms and elevators, from 5:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30 until 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 8. Permit holders are advised to park in the alternative parking lot 436 (Regent Garage and north lot) during this period.
