Parking Services is beta testing a new parking lot availability tool to help you find available spots in our most popular visitor lots. This mobile-friendly website provides real-time updates on lot availability, ensuring quick and convenient access to parking when you need it. If you use this tool, please provide feedback via the Feedback Form.

Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) is excited to announce that they will be continuing their popular discounted daily parking indefinitely.

Intended for faculty and staff who only need occasional parking on campus, this program allows users to purchase daily spaces in various available lots in advance for a discounted rate of $5 per day. Purchases can be completed via the �山�� Parking Services portal. Additionally, step-by-step instructions are available on the Faculty/Staff Parking page.

A few important things to remember:

You must be logged into the �山�� Parking Services portal to purchase your day permit.
This rate applies to specific lots and is dependent on space availability. Always check the parking portal for availability prior to parking in a specific lot.
Permits are available for purchase to accounts in good standing, meaning accounts with a $0 balance due. If there are extenuating circumstances, please contact Parking Services directly to request an exemption.

As the November 5 election approaches, Human Resources has some guidance and resources for employees and supervisors.

The Department of Human Resources strongly encourages managers and supervisors to provide flexibility in scheduling and granting leave for employees who may need to vote on Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
How and where to vote
Most polling stations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and employees are encouraged to vote before or after scheduled work hours or participate via mail-in ballot. If employees have not chosen to vote by mail-in ballot or voted early, we recommend that they talk to their supervisor before Election Day to understand how to schedule time to vote.
As a reminder, Colorado State Board Rules assert that classified employees must be granted up to two hours of administrative leave when they do not have three hours of unscheduled work time during voting hours. These three hours do not have to be consecutive (e.g. employees who work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. are not automatically eligible for this leave because they may vote between 7-8 a.m. or 5-7 p.m.).
Both university staff and classified employees may also use vacation time to vote if they need to do so during work hours.

Also, thank you to everyone who completed the HR Practitioner Experience Survey. We received over 300 responses, and the results will be disseminated in November.

Faculty or staff employed on the �山�� campus, �山�� campus retirees, and employees of University System offices in �山�� are eligible for membership at the Rec Center.

Trial Membership

Trial memberships give you access to the Main Rec Center and Williams Village Rec Center. The following is also included in your one-month trial membership:

Day-use lockers and changing facilities
Group fitness classes (no Be Fit Pass required)
Wellness services

Trial memberships are available to faculty and staff only. Memberships are non-transferable and there’s a purchase limit of one.

Sunrise Membership

Sunrise membership provides access to both Rec Centers from 6 AM to 12 PM Monday through Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday. Sunrise is only available to faculty and staff—spouses, partners or dependents are not eligible for this membership.

As we settle into the fall semester, it’s the perfect time to familiarize yourself with �山��’s Division of Public Safety (DPS), which houses four departments dedicated to your safety: the �山�� Police Department, Events & Emergency Management, Threat Assessment, and Flight Operations.

DPS was formed earlier this year to integrate the university's robust public safety resources, strengthening existing partnerships to meet the evolving needs of our vibrant campus community.

DPS leader Marlon Lynch, associate vice chancellor of public safety, was introduced in a previous Staff Council bulletin.

Please take a moment to explore the DPS website to learn more about these integrated safety resources and become familiar with tools you can use to make informed personal safety decisions.

Visit the DPS Resources page to learn how to report safety concerns, receive support, and take advantage of existing safety tools, including the Guardian mobile safety app, CU Night Ride, and virtual active harmer response trainings.

Become familiar with the �山�� Police Department, which operates on a community policing model and includes Residential Service Officers (RSOs), who support our residential community., RSOs provide education and appropriate enforcement on lower-level violations in residence halls.

Threat Assessment ensures continuous monitoring and mitigation of any instances of threatening or concerning behavior exhibited by faculty, staff, or non-affiliates to safeguard the well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and entire university community. This department provides consultation and intervention methods, maintains a comprehensive documentation repository, and facilitates the Behavior Intervention Team process.

Events & Emergency Management personnel provide planning and coordination of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery of natural and man-made disasters occurring on or near the campuses of �山��. This department is also responsible for updating emergency response protocols, analyzing and mitigating risk for events on our large, vibrant campus, hosting active harmer response trainings, and conducting safety walkthroughs, among many other responsibilities.

Flight Operations provides training regarding safe and legal UAS (drone) operations, helps campus units with important research involving drones, and ensures safety and compliance of UAS operations on campus. Read more about how Flight Ops supported a recent research mission.

The university’s training platform upgraded to Skillsoft Percipio last month. CU uses Skillsoft to manage its mandatory and custom training courses. The new platform offers enhanced features such as learning journeys, skill assessments, and AI practice simulations — in addition to a library of courses, ebooks, audiobooks, and professional certification trainings.
