Fall 2020
Created by graduate students Brendan Heffernan and Peter Riley, this video was viewed by students in a third-grade science class in High Peaks Elementary School, who then听participated in a discussion about it with Dr. Gopinath and Riley.
Summer 2018
Created in partnership with Skinner Middle School in Denver.听The students learned about interferometers in a hands-on unit (interferometers and instruction from Gopinath group) and toured the lab.
February 2017
Juliet, her grad students, the Women in ECEE group, and the OSA student chapter all brought science demos and toys that engaged children and adults alike. More than 2,500 people attended the event.听

Juliet participated in the conference, running the "Getting into Grad School Worshop" (pictured above),听particpating the Science Cafe, and offering lab tours.听
May 2016
A select group of students from the Buckley Institute of Technolgy visited the Gopinath lab to learn about short pulse lasers, materials, holography and interference.
July 2015
A select group of 44 first-year students attended this program before the fall semester of their first year. Juliet gave a talk to get them excited about electrical engineering, optics and photonics. As part of the program, she gave a demo on orbital angular momentum.
June 2014
We had a visit from high school students who were enrolled in a six-week Science Discovery STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) program to do a project incorporating both art and science.听
